Revelstoke, the "Gateway to Mountain Adventure and National Parks" resides between the massive Monashee and Selkirk Mountains. Mount Revelstoke National Park, northeast of the city, offers incredible outdoor adventures through breathtaking sub-alpine wildflower meadows. During the winter, spend a day shoeshoeing or cross-country skiing through the park. One hour east of Revelstoke is Glacier National Park, home to over 400 permanent glaciers. Visit the Rogers Pass Centre to learn about the park’s ecosystem and the story of Rogers Pass. While both parks offer great surroundings for wilderness photographers, please note that visitors to the parks require a National Park Pass, which can be found throughout the city of Revelstoke and at Welcome Stations in the parks.

Discover the captivating history of Revelstoke with a trip to the Revelstoke Museum. Residing in the old post office, the museum has remarkable displays retelling the founding of the city in the 1880s. While you are there, pick up a heritage tour brochure and step back in time with a self-guided walk past more than two-dozen restored heritage buildings in the downtown core. Drop in on the BC Hydro Revelstoke Dam and Generation Station, 4 km (2 mi.) north of the city, and take part in a free tour of its multi-level Visitor Centre to learn more about one of North America’s most modern hydroelectric developments.
